The client wanted radical changes to their ERP system over the coming years since this part of the business and system area had to be modernized, and the ambition was a modern micro-services ecosystem. The new micro-services architecture was also desired to largely follow an Event-Driven Service Oriented Architecture rather than communicating through web services. In addition, another main objective was to streamline the use of technologies so that the same ones were used across the entire organization. These included modern technologies such as .NET Core, Google Cloud, Google Pub/Sub, and PostgreSQL.

In close dialogue with relevant stakeholders and based on extensive investigation of various possibilities, Martin started developing a standalone system: the "Proxy" where events can be received from SqlServer/Service Broker and then sent to RabbitMQ or Google Pub/Sub. They will then be easily listened to in the future from other new micro-services.

With excellent technical and business insight, Martin has delivered a creative and valuable solution to the customer's major technical challenge in a relatively short time. The solution has the potential to improve the business value of the core system and give the company significantly improved access to real-time data.
