“Our philosophy is that the best experts need a good home – a good place to work with and through,”

This home has been built on solid foundations of our core values: Professionalism, Respect, and Mindset of a servant. Although these three pillars are complementary and equally important, today, we would like to focus on the third one. One may ask what Mindset of a servant means? Most probably, they would find out that at 7N we exist to understand, serve, and help our clients, our consultants, and our fellow employees. In our world, no one gets anywhere by putting their own interest first.

Deepen your understanding of Mindset of a servant by reading the interview with three 7Ners: Magdalena Hennig, Head of Gdańsk Branch at 7N Poland, Kim Rohde, Vice President of Consultant Relations at 7N, and Tero Mämmelä, Consultancy Manager at 7N Finland. We asked them three questions pertaining to their perception of this core value.

What does Mindset of a servant mean to you? How do you understand it?

“Mindset of a servant means doing my best to support clients and consultants. I match their needs with assignments and solutions to provide added value. A 7N agent role is all about taking genuine care of people, serving their best interest, and remaining attentive to their priorities,”

According to Tero Mämmelä, Mindset of a servant denotes providing the best service experience possible to both clients and consultants. At 7N, we are continuously broadening the understanding of our clients’ needs, our consultants’ expectations, and how we can guarantee a perfect match between the two. Mindset of a servant is not limited to any particular transaction or assignment: it holistically embraces our long-term focus on better support for our clients, consultants, and colleagues.

“At 7N, we are inspired by selflessness and team spirit. We recognize that helping our consultants, clients, and each other allows us to thrive,”

How is Mindset of a servant visible at 7N? How does it manifest?

Magdalena believes that Mindset of a servant shines through our entire organization because senior leadership sets an example: their actions inspire all 7N-ers, regardless of job position, to adopt this core value as their own. As a result, in daily work, our goal is to always make clients’ lives easier and better. We deliver what we promise and feel accountable for the quality of our services. Our relations are built on trust and respect. Simultaneously, we invest our efforts in finding the most innovative projects to nurture professional growth of the consultants. We do our best to make sure they work with the newest technologies, have numerous certification and training opportunities, and access to advice on career development.

“Adopting mindset of a servant is inextricably linked with my goal of converting strong consultant relations into added value for clients. To make these two worlds meet we utilize our understanding of consultants’ career aspirations and clients’ objectives. It makes us uniquely positioned to deliver best-in-class solutions to organizations via engagement of highly skilled IT professionals,”

The understanding of all parties involved is also underlined by Tero who says that it is crucial for provision of the best possible service.

How do you implement Mindset of a servant in your everyday work? Why do you believe it is important?

Tero pays close attention to building trust and long term-relationships, whereas Kim adopts a “consultants and clients first” approach. According to Magdalena, reliability, selflessness, and the ability to look at the same situations from the perspectives of all parties involved should be deeply rooted in one’s personality. Otherwise, there’s no possibility to build any trustworthy long-term partnerships that, in the end, should evolve into bigger, greater things.
