Core values can be just inscriptions on glossy company walls that the visitors and employees encounter while passing through the main entrance to the office. They may as well be confined to the "About us" section on the company website and then - long forgotten. Finally, they might be occasionally mentioned during the "all colleague meetings" to introduce the air of solemnity in the room. All these scenarios are possible yet not applicable to 7N.

Although "our values are at the core of everything we do" may indeed sound cliché, we treat this phrase ad litteram. Professionalism, Respect and Mindset of a servant are deeply rooted into our company's culture. Today, we would like to focus on how Respect shines through our organization.

To do so, we asked three of our 7Ners from all over the world about their perception of Respect. Discover what Prabpreet Singh Chaman, Senior Recruitment Specialist at 7N India, Jonas Nordstrand Nørgaard, Recruitment Specialist from Team International at 7N, and Natalia Wielgus, Team Lead & Senior Tech Recruiter at 7N Poland, have to say.

What does Respect mean to you? How do you understand it?

For Prabpreet Singh Chaman, Respect and mutual trust lay the foundations for building and maintaining relationships. Respect towards the work of others, their role, and contributions helps build a professional community of extraordinary people, a community that shows dedication and achieves its goals.

Jonas Nordstrand Nørgaard understands Respect as a core value that goes hand in hand with dignity and sometimes can easily be found in other people. He believes that Respect is all about treating others the way you want to be treated yourself.

According to Natalia Wielgus, Respect means being open to other people's ideas. Everyone should be heard and have an opportunity to share their thoughts – regardless of who they are, what their views are or what their standing in an organization is.

How is Respect visible at 7N? How does it manifest?

"At 7N, everyone is treated equally. Not only do we have the right to speak our minds, but also feel comfortable doing so. This is how Respect shines through the entire organization,"

It seems to be in line with Natalia's beliefs: At 7N, we are always encouraged to share our ideas and talk openly about our doubts and problems. During regular meetings, we brainstorm and everyone is free to say what they think, and it is never frowned upon by the rest of the team. 7N consists of many individuals who have different opinions, views, and life circumstances, but everyone is treated equally.

"Respect manifests in the way people receive trust for the work they do,"

How do you implement Respect in your everyday work? Why do you believe it is important?

"Respect for and trust in each other are deeply rooted in our work. We trust that we are all able to make the right decisions. We strive to share knowledge, learn new things and grow as a team every single day,"

He makes sure to treat every person with utmost Respect. It is of paramount importance as far as his role is concerned – he is usually the first point of contact for international candidates, which means that he has to understand and respect cultural differences.

Natalia, who also works closely with candidates, always does her best to make job interviews as worthwhile as possible. She carefully listens to what candidates have to say and focuses on giving feedback regardless of whether it is positive or not.

"It is very important not to waste anyone's time, and that is why I put much effort and energy into preparation: reading CVs and selecting those crucial questions that have an impact on the final decision,"

Finally, she emphasizes the value of Respect among team members: although they may have different backgrounds, it is always insightful to hear others' opinions and remain open for discussion.

"Needless to say, people earn Respect through the actions they take. However, I believe one can also earn it by listening to other's opinions while working on a common project. As per the 7N culture, everyone is equal, and we respect every individual in the team. We are all different, but together we can achieve even more,"
